Complex Trauma & Emotional Regulation

“I love myself. The quietest. Simplest. Most powerful revolution ever.” Gwendolyn Brooks

Prairie & Path provides individual therapy for adults navigating patterns of distress that often stem from trauma, childhood abuse or neglect, neurodevelopmental differences, and chronic emotional dysregulation.

This includes support for:

  • Complex PTSD (CPTSD) stemming from childhood abuse and neglect, including emotional flashbacks, chronic shame, dissociation, and difficulty feeling safe in relationships

  • Borderline Personality Disorder traits, including intense emotions, attachment fears, identity instability, and relationship instability

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), including intrusive thoughts, rumination, compulsions, and moral/somatic anxiety

  • Disordered eating patterns related to control, trauma, anxiety, or sensory overwhelm

  • Chronic health conditions where stress, trauma, and nervous system dysregulation interact

  • Neurodivergence (including ADHD and autism) when it intersects with emotional regulation, identity, and relationships

Services are trauma-informed, affirming, and individualized, drawing from evidence-based approaches including EMDR, parts work, and skills-based interventions as appropriate.
